Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia (map)
Our main reason for visiting Bolivia was after hearing from other travelers just how great it was to visit the worlds largest salt flats; Salar de Uyuni.
The salt flats are roughly 25 times larger than the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah and have a way of making you lose your mind in the white void space. This again was the second time in Bolivia where my wife used the line on me “you will only be here once in your life and if you don’t do it now you will regret it later“, this in reference to going streaking in what seems to be the most private place in the world.
