How to hike up Mount Whitney

Check another one off the bucket list as this past weekend with the help of our friend and neighbor Matt we completed our first mountaineering hike to the summit Mount Whitney.  It had us using crampons and ice axes as we climbed and faced some of the worst altitude sickness of our lives, but…

Happy to say we made it!

  1. Wow! Congrats! I am not sure I would be able to do the climb as the Snow Chute looked very steep and I would be worrying about slipping and falling.

    1. Congrats Bob on completing your cross country ride, anyone who can bike across america can make it up this slope :), just like riding it’ one step at a time.

    1. I need a “like” button so I can just like comments instead of replying to say thanks :). I took the Nikon D40 with me, but looks like I will be leaving it behind for the big trip since I switched over to a Canon T2i (more lenses to share with family); I know they are not full sensor but it’s smaller and I didn’t want to have to deal with carrying an external flash around with me. As always Nadine your photos are the best at capturing peoples emotions I have seen :).
